Prescription drugs are NOT miracles! The natural remedies that planet earth provides are the best method of healing.

Prescription drugs are powerful chemicals created in a laboratory that carry their own giant list of side effects, and should be avoided whenever possible. Heal naturally!

Natural healing is not a complicated, mystical, "intangible" thing. On the contrary, I’m simply going to approach this “medical” topic with a reasonable, common-sense, though by no means sugar-coated attitude. I am not a medical “professional” by any means, nor do I claim to be one. All I can say about myself is that I am a person who looks at things seriously, and tries to be reasonable about every subject. If you have a doctor, and most of you should, then follow his or her advice. But do your own research and your own thinking, is all I ask.

Now, Here are some basic facts:

The vast enterprise of the pharmaceutical industry, like any other giant industry, is run by money, therefore, it is flawed. That is, it does not always do what is right for people, being that decisions followed through are often influenced by a desire for more money.

For people to believe that the myriad anti-depressant pills and thousands of other medications prescribed for every single symptom you can imagine happening to the human body all came about by a sincere, collective desire on the part of the scientists who design or invent them, the companies that create them, and especially the marketers who sell them, to do what is absolutely best for each man, woman and child without a single thought about profits is absurd. Get real, hombre! Most of those drugs come replete with a full set of symptoms of their own, and if you never knew this, you know it now: slippery money lubricates particular drugs to get passed by the Food and Drug Administration--supposedly acting in our best interests--incredibly fast. Why do some drugs have to wait years to get passed, while others pass in a heartbeat? Because they’re more marketable, that’s why. Like Brenda Blue says, “Think about it!”

Doctors are NOT Omnipotent. They are NOT perfect. And sometimes, they don’t even care that much about their patients (a minority, I’m sure). What’s my point? Despite their fancy degree in the latest prescribe-whatever-makes-you-rich major, they are often intensely educated on just ONE thing. To come to your doctor and complain of a stomach-ache, which could be caused by any of HUNDREDS of factors, and expect him to prescribe some drug that will magically cure everything, is a b s u r d ! Many, many symptoms are there simply because we don’t live right!

"Treat disease through diet by preference, refraining from the use of drugs; and if you find what is required in a single herb, do not resort to a compounded medicament." -Baha'u'llah: Tablet to a Physician

The biggest example of what I mean is eating. Diabetes is a huge problem today, and its cause is SUGAR. Before the introduction of sugar, developing and third-world countries never had a diabetic or heart disease problem... Until the American culture comes along to influence their eating habits, at which time Diabetes will take just TWO GENERATIONS to appear! Along with it comes obesity, heart disease, and a TON of other problems that we routinely receive prescribed medications for, which in turn kill us in other ways! Absolutely ludicrous! Insane! Disturbing! Why don’t people see that eating an amount of sugar beyond that which is found in a natural diet of fruits, veggies, and meat is very unhealthy?? Because not everybody learns it. Because not everybody understands that WE LITERALLY ARE WHAT WE EAT. LITERALLY! Think about it.

How else are you sabotaging your health and receiving prescriptions from doctors by “not living right” ? I’ll come right out and say it: having sex with a lot of people who have sex with a lot of people is the absolute most effective way to open your body to a massive host of STDs, the most lethal of all being AIDS. This type of living--especially in this day and age--is an absolute guarantee you’ll need a number of prescription medications. Find a good spouse, stay with him or her, and you’ll do just fine. The thing about getting your thing everywhere is that you get everything on it. It isn’t worth it.

Not breathing right, either by always being in the big city, always being indoors, or not practicing deep breathing… High amounts of oxygen in fresh air are very invigorating and cleansing. Think about it: when you pass out and the ambulance comes to help you (speaking from experience here), what is the first thing they do? Stick an Oxygen tube in your nose. Why? It’s a sure way to wake up your mind, that’s why! There is plenty of research on this, feel free to do a google.com or about.com search on Oxygen. The point is, be in nature and get lots of oxygen. Now, if your breathing is very shallow, you either just have a bad habit or you are always careful not to get noticed. BREATHE IN!!! All the way! Now Breathe OUT! ALL THE WAY! Don’t be afraid! You aren’t “stealing” more than your share of Oxygen or some ridiculous thing like that!

Not enough exercise… A no-brainer but bears repeating: too little exercise is NOT good for you. We are creatures of the earth, we were NOT designed to sit in front of the idiot-tube all day long, we were designed to move, move, and move. Watching an occasional educational or news program is about the only good use for the idiot box. If you habitually watch television and are offended that I am calling you an IDIOT for being addicted to the Idiot-Box, GOOD. It’s about time you heave-hoed off the couch and did something productive (Hint: you might be catching a pet peeve of mine somewhere around here). If you are bed-ridden or otherwise cannot move, I am not talking to you. I am talking to the majority of people who, instead of using their mind, body, and emotions constructively and progressively, sit their lazy lard bums in front of the TV for hours and hours on end. You KNOW who you are.

To wean yourself off of Television, here is a good compromise: ONLY watch TV while you exercise. That is, go hard at some bodyweight exercises while you watch TV, and when you get to the point where you are collapsing and cannot possibly exercise any more, you must turn the TV off. This way, you get to watch TV while at least exercising your cottage-cheesy rumpus, and because you are addicted to the boob tube, you will naturally motivate yourself to exercise for longer periods of time, so you don’t miss any of your favorite shows! Eventually, though, you’ll need take your new habit of endurance-exercising out into nature more often as you watch less TV. Just take small baby steps in the beginning, but don’t lie to yourself by letting yourself plateau out. Really wean yourself off TV. The fresh air and exercise are more than worth it.

Stress… Stress causes health problems. Exercise helps reduce stress. So does not fighting with your loved ones all the time, by being nice instead of a selfish jerk. So does having a happy-go-lucky attitude while you are in the middle of rush hour traffic. It's true, driving is THE most stressful event of our everyday lives, much more so in heavy traffic. Just change your attitude about life from one of negativity and closed-mindedness to openness, honesty, and optimism, and the pain you subject your body to can be decreased immeasurably. Again, do I have to be highly-degreed to figure this out? No, its just common sense gleaned from common knowledge. What does all this decreased stress mean? Less prescription medications! Maybe even none!!! Some people are so riddled with stress and anxiety just going about common daily activities, that I don’t doubt a change in attitude for those people would result in a complete independence from a host of prescription meds. Being anxiety- or guilt-ridden is no way to live, folks, and prescription relaxant-this and stimulant-that should NOT be your first answer. If you carry a heavy burden of guilt, seek to make amends or receive forgiveness, and move on.

Chemicals in the home… Now, I’m not a chemical expert, but it just seems to me that a chemical for window cleaning, a chemical for bug-killing, a chemical for wood-dusting, cleaning drains, and all the other chemicals that supposedly promote health (even though they all say DANGER: HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED) are not only extraordinarily unnecessary, but probably even just a bit dangerous, at the very least! Couldn’t we figure out a safer way to clean the environment, so that we aren’t inhaling chemicals all the time? Is it really a good tradeoff? Likewise not replacing asbestos in your home or other frequented environment. Know what is around you. Don’t assume everything is safe. Be aware.

Smoking… Again, incredibly obvious, but the number of people dying from using tobacco apparently isn’t. Smoking, and any other form of using tobacco, kills! It's not some past time like chewing gum, it's slow, painful, expensive suicide!

GIVE IT UP!
For some of you, this will be the hardest thing you will ever have done, and ever have to do (and deep down, you know it will be tough). IT’S WORTH IT. The journey of this battle will toughen you and encourage personal growth in you. I don’t care if you have been smoking for 35 years at this point. You can, and really should, quit. Take the first step HERE and NOW. The simple, bottom-line point here is that not living right, not living healthy and naturally, is what causes most of our physical (and mental and emotional) problems. Figure out what you are doing or not doing enough of, that is affecting your health, and change it. It’s very simple, but it’s definitely not easy. If, after you have changed your living so that you are not harming yourself any more, you still need a Doctor’s prescription to survive, then go right ahead. But ONLY then.

What does natural healing mean? And how does it fit in to your life, really? Well, let’s look at it this way. If your leg cramps up, I am sure there is a prescription medication out there to “treat” that. Or, to do it naturally, you would eat a lot of bananas or prunes for potassium. If there is a history of prostate cancer in your family, you would be wise to up your intake of tomatoes for lycopene. For sunburns you could use natural aloe for relief. Instead of all those high blood pressure medications, stop drinking sugary sodas and eating sugary foods, and eat and drink naturally.

I could go on and on here, but the point is anyone who truly wants good health should check out the NATURAL remedies that the EARTH provides, rather than running to man-made drugs. At the very least, use manmade drugs only as a last resort. There are scores of plants out there that have medicinal properties that we as a society have come to almost completely overlook as the prescription drug industry has grown. Give nature a chance first!

Disclaimer: If you are on prescription drugs, such as for high blood pressure, don't just quit taking the drugs and jump into a natural-foods regime without first letting your physician know. Communicate with your physician, and tell him or her you are going to modify your diet gradually to the natural foods program, and as your blood pressure returns to normal, your goal is to eliminate dependence on such drugs. If you are taking prescription drugs that are keeping you alive, do NOT stop taking them unless your physician says it is okay!
